We don’t do wildlife photos or taxidermy, and even though we’re humane humans, we’re not Habitat for Humanity.
We’re not custom builders in the common sense of the word. We don’t use templates or stock blueprints, we create a unique, one-of-a-kind home for each client we serve.
We design…we do construction management… we work to high standards with a high level of commitment to our clients. We make the great spaces and intimate places you call home.![]()
Our mission
At Habitat Studio, we design, build and renovate homes tailored specifically for our clients – their needs, their tastes, their budgets.
Our values
- We are client-centred – we invite our clients to be involved in all aspects of the process of creating their unique home.
- We care about energy efficiency and environmental responsibility – and act accordingly.
- We hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, integrity and transparency.
We’re known for our unique designs; our quality, budget-sharp construction; and our professional, personable service to discriminating clients. And we care about the world we live in. We volunteer our time and expertise for humanitarian housing projects in faraway places like Honduras or close to home through the The Mustard Seed.
After more than 16 years together, we’re proud to be the little company with the big reputation. Since 1992, we’ve designed, built or renovated approximately 400 housing projects across Western Canada.
Habitat was founded by Bruce Watt, Vince Campbell and Peter Amerongen. These “three amigos” got a charge out of the synergy they experienced when they combined their design and construction “chops” on creative residential projects.
Today, our senior partners are Vince, Peter, Karen Dolan, Norm Perrin and Trevor Hoover. Karen is our office and financial manager. Norm continues his longstanding role as construction manager while Trevor heads our design team. Bruce has moved into semi-retirement, but still helps with design and mentoring.
We also have 11 other employee shareholders, in keeping with our model as an employee-owned business.![]()
