Our Philosophy

Construction management – it’s another thing about Habitat that sets us apart. We’re not general contractors; we’re your professional advisors, managing a transparent process that gives you control over your budget. You get our experience, expertise and buying power working on your behalf.

Here’s what we do:

  1. Manage the building process for you, representing your interests to the contractors and suppliers who work on your house.
  2. Get you our “builder’s pricing”.
  3. Earn our income through the professional fees we charge for the services we provide and the time we spend on your job.
  4. Develop a detailed project budget that estimates all costs (materials, labour, supervision, fees, contingencies, etc.) for each item in your house, on a line-by-line basis. 
  5. Track expenditures with you throughout the project, so you’re fully informed on costs as your house progresses.back to top

  2. Choose your finishing materials on time (we’ll help keep you on schedule).
  3. Know your priorities and be ready for key budget decisions.

Materials Specs and Product Choices

When it comes to materials, we have our standards – we won’t compromise on quality – but after that, the sky’s the limit. We don’t use standardized specs for you to choose from, we don’t build show homes to display what you can (and can’t) have. We give you a list of reliable suppliers who we know provide good value and we let you follow your dreams – and if you can dream it, we can make it. Then, when you decide what you want for your home, we use our contractor’s purchasing power to get you the best price on all your materials.  back to top
