The Larch Park development is ideally located in a gorgeous natural setting, just off Rabbit Hill Road, south of 23rd Avenue in Riverbend.
Our process is as follows: We meet with you and find out a bit about your idea of the ideal house. Based on this we give you a rough idea of what we think your new house will cost. If this ballpark cost is acceptable we enter into a design agreement with you, and you give us deposit for the house and lot. We then design your home and determine a final cost. If that is acceptable, we get busy and build your dream home. We would be pleased to work with you to develop a plan to suit your lifestyle on one of our lots. All the homes to be built in this area must meet a high standard of energy efficiency. As a minimum, each home has to achieve an Energuide rating of 80. While this may present a challenge for many builders, Habitat Studio had been building homes that meet or exceed these standards for many years. We also think we can and should do a lot better. The Government of Alberta is offering a rebate of $10,000 for any new home that achieves an Energuide rating of 86. We are of the opinion that the rebate amount is nearly sufficient to pay the additional cost required to achieve an Energuide rating of 86. It’s a great deal - the provincial government pays for most of the upgrade cost and you get all of the benefits of lower utility costs, protection from future escalation in energy costs, and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve dramatically reduced your environmental footprint.
